In academic writing, one of the most fundamental components of integrity is the accurate acknowledgment of sources. Fatemi and Saito (2019) emphasize that proper citation not only demonstrates respect for the intellectual contributions of others but also protects writers from the academic misconduct of plagiarism. Failing to attribute sources misrepresents authorship and undermines the core values of scholarship.
