In the process of doing a literature review of any given subject, the researchers seek where the articles intersect and meet. There are a number of studies that are examining the same part of the population or have gotten similar outcomes regarding an approach to practice.

It is these areas of overlap that then take the shape of the themes that you will be discussing in your literature review. These topics can even give the topical structure to the very review, as these become the headings to arrange your written analysis. The initial step, once you have finally collected your articles, is to re-read the articles and write down principal themes and sub-themes that you find coming up. What do you notice?

In this Assignment, you will start your literature review by creating a rough draft of this review, which is guided by themes that you have identified in the studies.

To prepare

• Study the Learning Resources in finding themes in the literature and creating an annotated outline.
• Research: Visit your collection of peer-reviewed research articles again on the topic.
• When reading, identify similarities of common themes and subthemes in at least four articles. These themes will be used to develop an outline of the literature review that you are going to submit next week.

By day 7

Provide a 1-page annotated outline with thematic headings that you have identified based on the literature on your topic. The outline should contain the minimum number of peer-reviewed research articles that you discovered. Do not forget to add proper APA references and a reference list.
