The population in my proposed DNP practice project, as stated in my PICOT question, will be postpartum mothers in the postpartum unit, above 18 years old, of all races and ethnic groups, who have had a vaginal or cesarean delivery, but decided not to breastfeed and may benefit from motivational interviewing and support to participate in breastfeeding their newborn. Exclusion criteria will include mothers and or infants who have conditions that would prevent them from breastfeeding.
