Week 2 Discussion
My name is _____, and I work in this agency as a license social worker. It is quite nice of you to come here today. It is my first encounter with you, and I am glad to see you here. But I would assure you that you are as at ease as may be before entering. This interview also seeks to introduce us to one another, and to talk over your reasons of bringing me here, what you hope to accomplish, and how I can serve you the best. There are still some things that I want to tell you about confidentiality, informed consent, and the manner in which our sessions will be conducted, hence you have a clear picture of what to expect.
All our discussions during meetings are confidential. Nevertheless, confidentiality is limited to some legal and ethical issues that I would like to draw your attention to (Memon et al., 2024). There is exemption of these, however, and this is what we discuss. You might also demand that you be informed how it works out; that is an informed consent as well. There are no binding sessions, and you will be at liberty to commence your sessions whenever you want, as you would like to proceed, take a break, or even terminate services. I would like to support, advise, and empower you to make the best decisions that would suit you.
I have read the referral and went through our objectives on the same-day session with my supervisor so as to be well prepared to help you. I also made sure this room is also personal, secure and comfortable so that we do not distract you as we attend to your needs (Schneider, 2022). To begin with, I would like to pose us with a few insignificant questions; what is it that brought you to us today, what exactly are you concerned about, what would you like to achieve by the end of our treatment. This assists me in formulating a good analysis and will make a plan to fit your situation.
We also possess administrative and ethical policies our agency is guided by, which I will speak about briefly here (Memon et al., 2024). Any meetings are confidential and detailed to make the records to be secure. In case we are supposed to give information to another professional, we would examine a release of information form and would sign it. In any case, we do not call one another very frequently, no matter how the emergency is, but we have developed procedures of contacts, and I am able to tell you whom to communicate with.
We had a time of between 10 minutes to-day. Before we part ways I will sum up what we have discussed, and another appointment will be made. I also would like to inquire what this meeting was to you, what appeared to be helpful, and what was not (Abdulaziz Albrithen and Nadir Yalli, 2023). It is you, who today, have made this first step, and opened your eyes, thanks to you. I do like boldness and your free speech. I believe we should be able to accomplish a few things in your behalf. To begin with, could I know what caused you to visit the support team today?
