Department of Defense, which achieves two important security properties, that is, the Simple Security Property (no read up) and the -property (no write down) (Ayamga et al., 2024). The objects and the subjects in the model receive security clearance levels and classification levels, respectively; hence, the information flows in the authorized direction. To prevent higher security level information from being compromised to lower security levels, the subjects may read at their own level or lower and write at their own level or higher, but not below that. This model can be applied within governmental agencies, military structures, and contractors who deal with defense, where confidential information safety is the value that is in the highest demand (Babak et al., 2025). The BLP model introduces an organized flow of information management that impressively contributes to organizations that have multi-level security requirements, i.e., intelligence agencies that process the information of top-secret level, secret information, and confidential information simultaneously. The model has been implemented in other secure operating systems, meaning that it can work in practice in the protection of classified governmental and military data. The evaluation of the BLP model has some good and bad points. It provides a mathematically rigorous scheme of protection of confidentiality due to its mathematical rigor; therefore, the concept of security can be tested and proved. However, the model does not consider integrity issues and simply reflects on confidentiality, but the hierarchical aspect of the model can obstruct the helpful exchange of information and operations in a dynamic environment (Berti, 2025). The BLP model can be an excellent candidate for future studies, particularly its adaptation to the modern cloud computing architecture and healthcare information systems. Future research possibilities involve coming up with hybrid models with BLP privacy controls and the application of integrity-oriented models like Biba to generate a complete security infrastructure. In addition, another study of the applicability of blockchain technology to implement BLP concepts in decentralized systems or a machine learning-based system to dynamically adjust the level of security based on specific contextual characteristics may expand the scope of the model to apply to contemporary security concerns.
